HSOA Golf Day and Dinner 2017

Thank you to everyone who came along to support our annual Golf Day and Dinner at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club,  Harpenden.  We had a superb day while raising money for a fantastic cause.

It was great to to see 38 players, 41 at lunch and 46 people at dinner with a buzz all day, so hopefully really enjoying the day whilst supporting some of the poorest people in the world. Gentlemen and ladies, your generosity raised £4,692 net for HSOA. This will pay for two school teachers for a year, for children, who but for Harpenden could not afford to go to school, or another Bore hole, 140 feet deep to bring clean water which has helped eliminate cholera.

In addition one more kind APGC Wednesday Swindle golfer has become a regular monthly donor supporting HSOA's Orphans and Vulnerable Children Programme and he adds over 30% to the total raised at this event - please see www.hsoa.org.uk/orphan-vulnerable-children-programme for more information.

We had 21 Golf prizes - all donated - including: Champagne for the winning team of Steve McConnell (HSOA), Steve Harris and Andy Reid, Prosecco the the team which came second - Chris Westcott, Giles Cook, Phil Kimber and Gary Grant, Dinner for Two at the White Horse for Aldwickbury's Andrew Walker, £50 voucher from L'Olivo won by Aldwickbury's Pete Ibbettsen.

Also, individual prizes were won by Mike Hodge, John Russell, Chris Butler, Phil Benson, Steve McConnell, Steve Harris, Chris Westcott, "Miles" Giles Cook, and Sportsman of the Day Owen MacKenzie.

The 21 golf prizes, 25 auction prizes and about 20 raffle prizes all donated. Hopefully this ensured that almost everyone took something home as well, fun memories and a warm feeling!

Particular mention for Hicks Accountants for sponsoring 10 HSOA events over 6 years and to Aldwickbury Park Golf Club for great support for 6 years and to A-Plus Joinery for again sponsoring the Champagne for the winning team.
