Harpenden Spotlight on Africa Golf and Dinner at Aldwickbury Park Golf Club on Thursday 29th September 2016.
HSOA’s fifth annual Golf and Dinner was a great success. 28 people played and 48 enjoyed an excellent three course dinner and a presentation about HSOA’s projects in education, water, health and income generation projects with a community in Uganda which comprises some of the poorest people in the world who have been displaced by war.
HSOA is run entirely by volunteers so, over 95% of the £3,500 raised by this event will be spent on these projects. Thanks to APGC for its continuing, valuable support of HSOA. Thanks to all the generous people who came or who were unable to come and made donations to HSOA.
Thanks also to the 50 local businesses which provided sponsorship, 21 prizes for the golfers, 16 items for auction and over 13 raffle prizes.
With an average stableford score of 35.66 the team of APGC Captain, Chris Westcott with Giles Cook and Kevin Barclay-Webb, won bottles of champagne. Second team was Milke Hollick, David Hartley and Ralph Scorer with 35.33.
The individual prize winners were: first and second low handicappers Andy Reid and Kim Nuygen – dinner for two at The Fox and L’Olivo respectively, and first and second high cappers Mike Hollick and Ralph Scorer – dinner for two at the White Horse and The Old Bell Inn, respectively.
The leading lady was Dotti Poole, from Brickendon Grange GC , won a voucher from Bar Azita.
